A conference for parents and caregivers of typical children and children with disabilities, education professionals and service providers.
Workshops offered include: Understanding the New IEP form, A Parent's Guide to Understanding Response to Intervention (RTI), Bullying in Schools:Why Does it Happen and What Can You Do to Stop it, Get Ready for Kindergarten, Parents' Procedural Safeguards Under the IDEA, Parental Involvement Under Title 1, Technology Tools that Help Build Literacy Skills for All Children, Surfing Safe: Avoid Internet Dangers and Learning Styles Explained.
Several workshops will be offered in Spanish!
Presenters include: Delaware Senator Gary Simpson and representatives from Rodel's Delaware Parent Leadership Institute, Parents As Teachers, the Delaware Department of Education and Delaware State Parent Advisory Council.
The conference is free and includes a light breakfast, lunch, goodie bags and door prizes!!
