The Parent Information Center of Delaware, Inc, (PIC) is a statewide nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and is Delaware’s only federally mandated Parent Training and Information Center designated by the US Department of Education to provide information, training, technical assistance and support to families of children and youth with all disabilities from birth to age 26.( Learn more aboutParent Centersand the National Alliance for Parent Centers )
PIC serves over 3,000 families and professionals a year by providing individual technical assistance and problem solving, training seminars, large conferences, a newsletter with a circulation of 5,000, a lending library and this website.
These services are designed to help parents of children with learning, intellectual, emotional and physical disabilities gain greater understanding of their children’s special needs and acquire the advocacy skills necessary to secure appropriate educational and other services.

Funding
Funding for PIC’s programs and services derives entirely or in part from the:
US Department of Education – Office of Special Education Programs- grant number: H328M040020, Delaware Department of Education, State of Delaware Grant-in-Aid Program, Delaware Department of Health and Social Services
In addition, PIC greatly depends on foundation grants, gifts and donations from individuals and corporations to fund its programs and services for children and families.
